Some Ms. Bug highlights:
- A farm girl at heart, she was born and raised on a wheat farm in central Kansas
- Ms. Bug's parents are in their active 80's and still live on the farm
- Majored in piano and music theory at Kansas University
- Umpteen other degrees including a Master of Science in Executive Fire Service Leadership
- First female Battalion Chief, Kansas City Fire Department
- Ms. Bug is the Fire Chief, Puyallup Fire Department

- Project Safe Place volunteer driver, assisting young people in at risk situations
- Distance runner & triathlete
- Gold Medalist at the 2000 USATF Masters National Championships 4X100 relay.
- USATF certified Track and Field official (javelin and pole vault)

- Manages to put up with most of Mr. Bug's many bad habits
